Dear Revolutions Patrons, We regret to inform you that one of our Revolutions shows, Sehnsucht by Perpetuo Mobile from Italy, will not be performing in this year’s festival. It is a very unfortunate situation, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. As you may be aware, the Revolutions International Theatre festival is a professional festival curated by Tricklock Company. We find the most interesting theatre from around the world and produce it fully here in Albuquerque. This means that Tricklock pays for artists’ travel, food, accommodations and their artist fees for performing. In order to pay international artists, we must comply with the United States government work visa process. The process of acquiring a visa is lengthy and complicated. We began the visa application process in August but due to complications beyond our control, we were unable to process them in time for Perpetuo’s arrival. This is not the first time we have had to face issues with visa applications and the possibilities of a remarkable performance being cancelled. Unfortunately, this is also not the first time we have had to outright cancel a performance already advertised as to being a part of the festival. Tricklock, along with Perpetuo Mobile, worked extremely hard up until the last minute to get the visas pushed through. We also owe a large amount of gratitude to Congressman Martin Heinrich and Senator Tom Udall, who also put in a great deal of effort to rectify the situation. However, after months of hard work, we were unable to receive approval of the necessary documents. Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you have made a reservation with your passport for Sehnsucht, you will receive a call from our Box Office to adjust your tickets. If you do not receive a call or need more information please call Tricklock. There are still dozens of events lined up for this year’s festival, and we hope that you will simply change your ticket or reservation to one of the spectacular performances left in Revolutions 2012. We are committed to bring Perpetuo Mobile next year for our 2013 festival! We hope that you will continue to see all of the other shows in the festival. It is through your direct support of purchasing tickets, and generous donations, that we are able to produce this incredible festival. Your support will go a long way to helping us recoup some of our loss due to the cancelation of Perpetuo Mobile this year. Thank you again, and please pardon the overused expression, but, “THE SHOW MUST GO ON!” We assure you that the show will indeed go on.
