Wake up in a city devastated by explosion; meet the new day in a tent for refugees; heal wounds by burning like your first experience of alcohol. Nobody is ever ready for a New War. Nagasaki \ Sarajevo \ Donetsk \ Aleppo. Four cities. Four wars. One actress. A whole hour to go through the thick veil of sounds, movements and breathing and in total silence feel life again.
When words lie, the body tells the truth. #BLACKSNOW is the pain of four cities: Nagasaki, Sarajevo, Donetsk and Aleppo, which becomes our own pain. No one else’s pain — the pain is common. Because we and the world around are alone.
Interdisciplinary performance #BLACKSNOW combines contemporary choreography, butoh, ballet, avant-garde music and video installations in the space of the old textile factory in Kyiv, Ukraine.
