The 2011 Manoa Project Teen Playwriting Competition and Ensemble Apprenticeship!

Thrills, spills, and circus skills! From commedia to Shakespeare, stilt walking to improvisation - join Albuquerque's most outrageous and highly trained high school acting ensemble and see what the world of theatre opens up for you this summer.

If you are 14 to 18 years old and are an aspiring writer, actor, set designer, costume hound, performance artist, poet, painter, clown, stand-up comedian, or are just plain stage-hungry and theater-crazy:

Auditions

·         May 18^th, Wednesday 5:30pm-8pm.

·         May 21^st, Saturday 12pm-4pm.

-All auditions are by appointment. To sign up for a slot, please contact Director of Education Outreach, Kristen D. Simpson (kristen.d.simpson@gmail.com, (505) 610-1741. If you cannot make either of the audition dates, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

- All students auditioning are required to bring a statement of purpose. Please let us know what your goals and intentions are for your future involvement in the arts, as well as this summer.

- Please wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to move.

-The auditions will be held at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, located at 1701 4th Street SW Albuquerque, NM 87102, in the Roy E. Disney Center for the Performing Arts.

Script Submission

-Script submissions may be sent as a pdf or word document to kristen.d.simpson@gmail.com or to Attn: Manoa Project, Tricklock Company, 1705 Mesa Vista NE, Albuquerque New Mexico, 87106.

-Deadline for script submissions is May 13^th, 2011.

Program Dates

·         Training will begin Monday, June 6^th and end on Friday, July 8^th.

·         Performances will be at the National Hispanic Cultural Center Friday, July 8^th 8pm,  Saturday, July 9^th 8pm, and Sunday, July 10^th, 2pm

·         The tour will take place the week of July 11^th-17^th. Please keep those dates open.

·         Monday through Thursday, we will begin at 11:30 and end at 5:30. There will be one 30 minute break.

·         Fridays we will begin at 11:30 and end at 2:30.

·         We will not have training or rehearsal on Monday, July 4^th.
