About Hangman
From one on the most influential theatre companies to emerge from post- Communist Russia comes the magical, dark, delirious “Hangman.” Set in a strange world lit with swinging lamps and shattering shadows, DO-Theatre infuses the story of the Damned Trinity with their trailblazing, lyrical, tense brand of physical theatre meshed with dance. An intriguing take on endless puzzle being put together by perpetrators and victims, judges and executioners, “Hangman” employs absurdism, clown, and engaging dark humor to examine the journey of crime, from inception to a court room and, finally, a staggering conclusion.
Challenging and inspirational, this newest work is a continuation of fine form from the group whose art has been called...
“...alternative theatre at it’s best: challenging our assumptions and forcing us to look at the world in a new and surprising ways.”
(Philip Brandes, Santa Barabara News Press, May 17, 2001)
