Fresh off its World Premiere in Albuquerque and subsequent tours to Germany and Poland, Tricklock Company’s Black River Falling explores the relationship between four sisters who are the only survivors of a natural disaster, using song, puppetry, minimal text and highly stylized theatrical movement. In rural Wisconsin during the 1800’s, four women must deal with the loss of their parents, siblings and husbands, all while fighting to stay alive. “...haunting, captivating, heart-breaking and uplifting all in one unsettling package…it’s a sublime ride” As the mundane becomes magical and fantasies, dreams and memories bleed into reality, Black River Falling dares to ask “why do we keep fighting, even in the face of disaster?”
