Just about anything goes at Albuquerque’s longest running and most popular variety show…hitting the stage three or four times per year since 1995 and still running strong!
Hosted by Tricklock’s sexiest & silliest personalities the Reptilian Lounge has boasted some of the world’s most talented, irreverent eye-popping artists seen on either side of the Rio Grande. While it is primarily a dais for Albuquerque’s new and veteran artists, the Lounge has been host to performers from all over the world – poets, actors, dancers, musicians, cactus players, really BAD hippie bands, jugglers, belly dancers, film makers, side show head shrinkers, stand-up comedians, silent poets from Sweden, evangelical prophets from Texas, puppeteers, step dancers that sing, swing dancers that swing, Elvis, Jim Morrison, Bono…the list goes on and on!
Fine traditions of the Lounge include (but are not limited to) throwing coins at the silent but sexy “Target Girl”, impromptu swing dance lessons, four minute surprise funk discos – all must dance, door prizes, organized and enforced heckling at latecomers, and late night phone calls to people we don’t know who were supposed to show up to the Lounge but stood up their friends who did attend. (And we’ve got the strangest luck – there is always someone famous in the audience who shows up unexpectedly…and they’re always willing to perform for us! It’s baffling!)
The house is always packed – even our audience’s laps fill up – so get there early – but queue nicely or the Page Sisters will take you off to the dressing room in handcuffs.
So what are you waiting for? Dig the change out of your couch, get your pitching arm ready, and keep your eyes focused on the target(s)…Reptilian Lounge is one healthy dose of madness you won’t want to miss! |

"The Reptilian Lounge at the
[Tricklock Performance
Space] is great for night
owls, those who find
Saturday Night Live boring
these days, and those who
want to see something really
fresh… This is called
working without a net, and
it's what makes Tricklock so
strong."
Ann L. Ryan, Albuquerque

"...[The Reptilian] Lounge
has become something of a
late-night standard for
anyone with a couple of
bucks and an appetite for
music, monologue, dance
and humor all thrown into
one open mic night."
