Kevin R. Elder (Education Director) has been working with Tricklock Company as an actor, writer, director, and Resident Artist since 2003. Elder became extremely dedicated to the creation of new work in 1999 upon completion of his first original work Tiny Caravans. Since then, Elder has been a part of creating more than a dozen original works which include Tricklock Company’s highly acclaimed original show, The Glorious and Bloodthirsty Billy The Kid as well as Splinters, The Water Project, Love and Beauty, the Futur3 collaboration City Beats Albuquerque, Tangential, Welcome to the Family, The Brothers Pact, Mien Bovine, Knit (which is currently being adapted as a short story), and his most recent work Black River Falling. Elder’s original work has been seen in Albuquerque, Dayton, Chicago, New York City, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Canada, Germany, Poland, Scotland, and Serbia.
Elder has taken master classes and/or trained extensively with Sir Ben Kingsly, Daniel Stein of Dell Arte’ International School of Physical Theatre, Second City’s Pajama Men, Gardzienice Theatre of Poland, and most recently Karen Hines, the critically acclaimed director of the famous Canadian clown duo, Mump and Smoot. Kevin R. Elder has taught classes and workshops at: Antioch College, St. Mathews Elementary of St. Paul, The Albuquerque Academy, Bosque School of Albuquerque, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, RFK Charter School, The Youth Performing Arts Festival, and the University of New Mexico, where he is an instructor of Tricklock Company’s Ensemble Incubator class.
He is currently collaborating with Angel Exit co-founder Charles Gamble, and Second City’s Pajama Men, to create a new dark comedy that is set to premiere in early 2009. |
