Kate Schroeder

Kate Schroeder (Assistant Production Manager & Volunteer Coordinator) performs and teaches, and her work has traveled to Chicago, Los Angeles, Canada, Germany, Poland, and Serbia. Most notably Kate co-created and acted in two of Tricklock’s highly acclaimed original touring productions; The Glorious and Bloodthirsty Billy the Kid – The Greatest Serial Killer of Our Time! A Wild West Show and Cabaret, and the comedy of terror Love & Beauty, formerly titled Dandelion Clockwork. The LA Times declared Kate “delicious,” and Dean Jenkinson of CBC Radio called Love & Beauty, “Magnificently inspired lunacy.” In August 2007 she will film her first movie, Swing Vote starring Kevin Costner.

In 2007 Kate co-taught Tricklock’s first Ensemble Incubator class at the University of New Mexico, led workshops in Poland at Teatr Kana and Theatre Association Chorea, and spent her fourth summer training aspiring theatricians in Tricklock’s high school internship program The Manoa Project. This year she directed the Project’s winning play, The New Adventures of the Silver Rope.

Kate is a lover of theatre festivals, and each January she is a producer of the Revolutions International Theatre Festival, which, since its inception in 2001, has almost quadrupled in size and scope. She recently worked as Production Manager for the international tour of Tricklock’s Black River Falling, and for UNM’s three-week Words Afire New Works Play Festival.

Kate graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a BFA in Theatre, receiving the Violet C. Moore Award for Excellence in Acting, and trained with Daniel Stein of the Dell’Arte School of Physical Theatre, the Gardzienice Centre for Theatre Practices of Poland, Anne Bogart of SITI Company, and the Utah Shakespeare Festival. She joined Tricklock Company in 2001. In addition to her work in the theatre, Kate practices Anusara Yoga, and begins the first phase of teacher training in the fall.
