Juli Hendren

Juli Hendren (Producing Director) began working as a performer with the Tricklock Company in 1994 when she was cast as Beth in A Lie of the Mind (Tricklock Company’s second show.) She is a founder of the Resident Ensemble and has been a part of the Executive Artistic Core since 1996. Juli is a writer and performer with the ensemble as well as the production manager for company shows and the Revolutions International Theatre Festival. Juli is also the creator of “Target Girl” from the popular Reptilian Lounge. She has been involved in over 25 Tricklock shows and has toured across the US, Canada and Europe.

Juli is also a critically acclaimed solo performer. She has performed her solo shows in New Mexico, Poland and at the Mae West Festival of women's original work in Seattle, where she received a Writer’s Grant from the State of Washington for her work. Her solo work includes Why Can’t Ophelia Swim?, Uppity Women and the Dumb Shit They Do and ROT (which toured to Seattle in June 2006 in collaboration with Macha Monkey Productions.) Her latest solo piece Crybaby Sally was performed in Albuquerque in the summer of 2007 and will be made into a film in the spring of 2008. Juli can also be seen in several Egg Murder Production’s films including The Faithful and the Foul (written and directed by her husband, Aaron Hendren.)

Juli is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a focus in performance and production management. She has studied with Daniel Stein of Dell’Arte, the Gardzienice Centre for Theatre Practices of Poland, Mariana Sadowska of EVOE, burning cities new works company, Karen Hines of Mump and Smoot and the late Leonardo Shapiro of The Shaliko Company. Juli is regularly training and teaching with Tricklock Company and especially enjoys the art of physical comedy, clown and bouffon.
