Erin Phillips is a writer, actor, musician, director and educator who received her BA intheatre from Beloit College in 2005. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Dramatic Writing at the University of New Mexico.
In 2004, while studying at the Trinity/LaMaMa Performing Arts Program in New York, NY, Erin co-created and performed in 3 Eves, an original piece that premiered at The Club at LaMaMa. While in New York, Erin studied and trained with performance artists Jennifer Miller, Tim Miller, Guillermo Gomez-Peña and Roberto Sifuentes of La Pocha Nostra, LaMaMa ETC founder Ellen Stewart, butoh artist Maureen Fleming, choreogrpaher and dancer Tiffany Mills, and Double Edge Theatre.
Erin’s acting credits include: Diana in Christopher Fry’s Ring Round the Moon, Gertie in David Lindsay Abaire’s Fuddy Meers, and Olivia in Richard Greenberg’s The American Plan. As a musician, Erin created original music with The Snake Oil Market for Tricklock’s production of Black River Falling, which toured to Germany and Poland in the spring of 2007. Erin also created music for Juli Hendren’s original solo piece, Crybaby Sally, which premiered in the summer of 2007. She plays the fiddle with various local old-time and bluegrass groups, and is a board member for the New Mexico Folk Music and Dance Society. For the past six years, Erin has developed and led courses in ensemble-based theatre and performance for the Albuquerque Academy Summer Session.
